This item was made at the Jian kiln, but instead of a backstamp, it has a motif-like signature, "YR," on the bottom right of the plate's surface. This indicates it is a novelty item (not for sale) distributed by the French cosmetics brand Yves Rocher to its customers. The plate depicts a reproduction of a traditional 19th-century design from the "Country Wedding" series, and is affectionately known among antique enthusiasts as the "Yves Rocher model." It was distributed in France during the 1980s-1990s and is popular as a vintage item.
This series consists of six types, each depicting a different scene leading up to the wedding. This is NO.3, "At the Town Hall," a very French piece depicting the scene of the legal marriage procedure at a French town hall.
It is slightly smaller than a cake plate. There are fine cracks and small scratches on the back, but it is in very good condition.
